German teacher to come

In summer 2009 a new teacher from Germany is coming to Brook International School.
Mr. Sascha Canisius is teacher for physics and maths in Cologne, Germany. He will support us for several weeks.
Staff and directors of Brook International School are looking forward to welcoming Mr. Canisius at Brook family.

German interns at Brook International

Over the past months several German teachers and social workers have been working at Brook International school.
Esther and Annika from Heidelberg, Germany, spent five months at our school working with the young students and made some beautiful changes in our school building. They brightened up the classrooms with paintings and more.
Later that year Stephanie came from Hachenburg to Brook International and she gave classes and helped in the administration.
All young ladies reported they had a great time in the school and loved the work together with the children, teachers and non-teaching staff.
We hope they will come back and visit us soon.

Fr. Thalothil in Heidelberg

On Monday Fr. Thalothil, accompanied by Fr. Winfried Roth, came to Heidelberg. Florian Mohr welcomed the guests from Schönberg and after a walk through the old town of the city they went to a meeting with Prof. Adam from SRH University. Adam confirmed his interest in a closer collaboration between his faculty and Brook International, hence, in future more students from Germany will come in exchange to Sasthamcotta.
After lunch at the futuristic SRH cafeteria Thalothil, Roth and Mohr continued their journey to Heppenheim, a beautiful town in Odenwald.
Fr. Thalothil will be back in Kerala end of next week.

On Friday April 4, Fr. Thalothil and Florian Mohr are giving an exclusive interview for a regional newspaper in Germany. The Rheinzeitung will mainly report from Florian Mohr’s work at BIS and his journey through India afterwards. A copy of the article will be posted here soon.

Fr. Thalothil visits Germany

Tomorrow, on June 27, Principal Fr. Thalothil is going to Germany for a visit. He arrives at Frankfurt International Airport and stays for a couple of weeks in Schoenberg, the parish of Fr. Roth. Alongside Florian Mohr, Fr. Thalothil is meeting Prof. Albert from SRH University Heidelberg for a discussion about regular internships and exchange.
Fr. Thalothil will be back at BIS in August.
